This course looks at issues faced by the fastest growing segment of the U.S. population, the elderly.  The specialized field of Elder Law includes addressing the needs of our seniors that have rarely been addressed by earlier generations.  In the course, we examine concerns including disability and medical care/care giving, living transitions, long-term care, finances, advocacy and safety, decision making, and planning.  We also examine practical solutions to identified potential issues in our roles as advisors to the older adult community.

NOTE:  The course level is basic to intermediate with no prerequisites required.

This course has been approved for 4 hours of continuing education credit by the Colorado Division for Insurance Professionals and the CFP® Board of Standards for CFPs.  It also qualifies for CE credit from the Colorado State Board of Accountancy for CPAs.

The program is presented from 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. at the Davis Schilken PC Conference Center at 523 Park Point Drive, Suite 101, Golden, CO 80401.
 

Continuing Education Credits:

  • 4 hours - Colorado Division of Insurance and the CFP® Board of Financial Standards
  • 4 hours for CPAs (prior approval not required for Colorado CPAs)
