Course Description:                                                                                                        



This course is broken down into four parts.  The first part covers introductory concepts.  The second part covers traditional planning techniques.  It touches briefly on the living and death probate processes.  Part three covers in-depth the advantages and disadvantages of planning with revocable trusts.  This section also covers the options available with a revocable trust as well as via testamentary trust planning.  Part four introduces uses of intervivos irrevocable trusts, life insurance trusts, special needs trusts, inheritors’ trusts, qualified domestic trusts for non-resident aliens and dynastic or multi-generational /GST trusts.

NOTE: The course level is basic to intermediate with no prerequisites required.

This course has been approved for 8 hours of continuing education credit by the Colorado Division for Insurance Professionals and the CFP® Board of Standards for CFPs.  It also qualifies for CE credit from the Colorado State Board of Accountancy for CPAs.

Continuing Education Credits:

• 8 hours - Colorado Division of Insurance and the CFP® Board of Financial Standards
