This course addresses donor motivation and the various forms of charitable giving and the tax and planning considerations related to each. We review the following approaches to charitable giving including: 1) outright gifts, 2) charitable bequests at death, 3) charitable gifts of life insurance, 4) charitable gift annuities, 5) pooled income funds, 6) charitable remainder trusts and 7) charitable lead trusts. We examine the pros and cons of each technique.
NOTE: The course level is basic to intermediate with no prerequisites required.
This course has been approved for 4 hours of continuing education credit by the Colorado Division for Insurance Professionals and the CFP® Board of Standards for CFPs. It also qualifies for CE credit from the Colorado State Board of Accountancy for CPAs.
The program is presented from 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. at the Davis Schilken, PC Conference Center at 523 Park Point Drive, Suite 101, Golden, CO 80401.
Continuing Education Credits:
- 4 hours - Colorado Division of Insurance and the CFP® Board of Financial Standards
- 4 hours for CPAs (prior approval not required for Colorado CPAs)
